Thank you to everyone who asked questions and participated in voting. The IBRBS Board is pleased to announce the results of our recent election. Join us and congratulate in alphabetical order, Directors Don Fasig, Deanna Golden, James (Jim) Kelly, Sr., and Chad Wade. The four elected Directors will be officially seated to their official positions at the March 12th, 2025 Board of Directors meeting.
The vote for the Bylaws change exceeded the required supermajority to pass, with 72% voting “Yes” in favor of the change. The Board of Directors will set an effective date for the implementation of the Bylaws at the March meeting. Thank you to all who supported the direction to broaden membership to all Christmas performers.
Background on Voting
We use Mailchimp for our communications, ballots, and surveys. For the election, each email has a link to the ballot that includes a unique ID to track if the member has voted.
Our process does allow members to vote more than once, but only the last vote counts. That way members can change or reconfirm their vote. Sometimes the link is altered to remove the unique ID, but those votes show as Unknown and don’t get counted. This year there were 59 Unknown votes with 8 of them being cast after the reminder on the 10th was sent, but the inclusion of those blank votes would not have changed the results.
The Election Committee sent the initial email on February 1st to active members who accept emails from IBRBS. On February 5th, and again on February 10th, the committee sent follow-up emails to members who did not yet have a registered vote.
