Dear Members and Friends:
If you are interested in a role as an Officer of IBRBS, the following message further describes the election process planned for June.
Every two years according to the Bylaws, the IBRBS’ Board of Directors elects the organization’s Officers, who serve a two-year term. Officers are responsible for overseeing the work performed by a variety of committees, setting strategy, ensuring compliance with the requirements of its 501 (c) status, and making decisions to grow IBRBS for long-term growth. Officers have strong leadership and team-building experience, make thoughtful decisions, help to set priorities, are problem-solvers, and work collaboratively with all members of the Board of Directors.
The Officer election will take place at the June 12, 2024, Board of Directors meeting. The Officer positions are:
- President/CEO
- Membership Officer
- Events Officer
- Governance & Operations Officer
- Communications & Marketing Officer
- Secretary
- Chief Financial Officer
- Chief Technology Officer
Eligibility and Requirements Include:
- Officers need not be elected Directors but must be Full Members in good standing.
- Candidates must complete the Acknowledgement of the Code of Ethics/Rules of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies, available from the Member Dashboard.
- Candidates must submit their intention in writing to the Board Chair by May 20, 2024. Upon receipt of your intention to run for a single Officer position, the Board Chair will send the Policy and Procedure for the Election of Officers, which has full details on the process. Email Dgolden@IBRBS.org if you intend to run for an Officer position.
- Campaigning for an Officer position ends by May 31, and cannot be done via any IBRBS social media or email account.
- Additional requirements are described in the Policy and Procedure.
Serving as an Officer for your all-volunteer, member-driven organization is an honor, representing IBRBS with integrity. To learn more about the positions, qualifications, and responsibilities, please reach out to either Deanna Golden, Board Chair, or Randy Dodds, Secretary.
Regards,
Deanna Golden
